What are the warning signs my roof needs a repair?
Watch for ceiling stains, damp patches after rain, cracked or missing tiles, rust streaks on metal roofing, sagging sections, and daylight visible through the roof from inside the attic. On the Central Coast, salt residue or flaking paint on flashings is another early signal. Any one of these is worth a call before the next storm, since we can usually fix a small issue in a single visit if it is caught early.
Can I claim a roofing repair on insurance without a storm event?
Generally, no. Home insurance in NSW covers sudden, accidental damage, such as a storm or falling branch, not gradual wear and tear like ageing tiles or corroded fasteners. If your roof has deteriorated over time rather than been damaged in a specific event, that repair is usually out of pocket. We will tell you plainly which category your roof falls into during your inspection, before you lodge a claim.
Do you repair roofs with solar panels installed?
Yes. We work around existing solar panel mounts and wiring when replacing tiles, resealing flashings, or repairing sheet metal underneath a solar array. Panels usually need to come off and go back on for anything beyond a very minor fix, so we coordinate that with your solar installer or handle the removal and refit ourselves, depending on the system. We will flag this as part of your quote before any work starts.
What happens if it rains during a scheduled roof repair?
We do not leave a roof exposed. If rain moves in during a job, we secure the work area with temporary waterproof covering before we stop, then resume once conditions are safe to work in. For larger jobs we plan around forecast weather windows from the outset, so a passing shower rarely causes more than a short delay rather than a fresh problem for your home.
How do I choose a licensed roofer on the Central Coast?
Check that the roofer holds a current NSW roofing licence, carries public liability and workers compensation insurance, and gives you an itemised written quote before any work starts, not a verbal figure over the phone. A local operator who can name specific Central Coast conditions, such as salt corrosion or storm exposure, rather than a generic pitch, is usually a stronger sign of real experience than reviews alone.
